Obesity is a condition manifested in excessive body weight. Increased body weight and obesity is one of the most widespread diseases in the developed countries. The amount of fat in the organism is estimated via calculating the body mass index or BMI for short. The ideal BMI for adults varies from 18.5 and 25. If the BMI is higher than 25 it means that a person is overweight.

Clinical shows that obesity is one of the main causes of different diseases including cardiovascular and locomotor diseases, type 2 diabetes, liver and gall bladder diseases.

Usually the main of overweight is quite simple. A person receives more calories with food that his organism is able to burn, and then the rest of these calories are deposited in the form of fat tissue. Some people consider that the cause of obesity are genetics, hormonal diseases, certain medications. However, all of these are only risk factors that may contribute to an excessive body weight. Its important to understand that this risk factors only increase the chance for an excess body weight but not cause obesity.

Each years all over the world people spend thousands of dollars on different weight loss products and programs. In most of the cases these program are ineffective and do not give the needed results. Very frequently the patients are looking for a rapid and simple approach. However, only a complex approach that requires significant efforts, time, money and willpower.

Unfortunately, some people believe that there are some magic pills that will help to decrease an excessive body weight without any efforts. It is important to understand that drugs for obesity may serve only as additional help and are ineffective without right nutrition and physical exercises.
